St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse

Hey Beauties!
So, it's fall and winter is quickly approaching.  The weather is not so tan-friendly anymore (at least not in Nebraska.)  Your tan is fading and you're wondering--how do I get my summer glow back in the cooler months?  Well, if you haven't heard about St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse, here's your chance!

This stuff is seriously AMAZING!  It doesn't give you the "oompa-loompa" looking tan.  It is bronze and beautiful!  You can either use it alone or under makeup.  Just make sure to blend it into your neck if you choose to use it on your face only.  It dries quickly, and since the product is colored, preventing streaking has never been easier.

Commonly Made mistakes:

One word=EXFOLIATE!
I cannot say it enough. I have seen some nasty tans in my life.  Most of the problem comes because people don't exfoliate before applying product.  This leads to two problems: 1.) the product builds up in these areas AND 2.) the product leaves those areas first because it's composed of dead skin cells.  I don't know about you, but I don't think a patchy tan is attractive ;)

Another problem is some people apply it only to certain areas (i.e.-legs, face, arms.)  MAKE SURE that it's blended in to the other areas.  You don't want to make it super obvious that you're wearing a self-tanner.  Since this product looks so natural, you don't want to ruin it by making any mistake with application.

It isn't difficult to apply AS LONG as you follow the instructions on how to apply.  Some come with an application pad to prevent orange hands.  It's a personal choice to use it or not.  I don't just because I think that our hands are the best application tools.  If you choose that method, WASH YOUR HANDS IMMEDIATELY after.

The cost really isn't too bad.  A 4 oz. bottle on Sephora is $30, and an 8 oz. bottle is $40.  Clearly, spending an extra $10 would be my suggestion. If you purchase on St. Tropez's website (listed below), the 8 oz. bottle comes with a free application mit :)

FALL in LOVE

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
-Audrey Hepburn

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to share my top beauty secret with you! It is...Drum roll please.....DINAIR AIRBRUSH MAKEUP!
I have to be honest. I was SO skeptical because of the price.  As a college student, I don't have an extra $200 laying around (unfortunately.)  However, I knew if I didn't buy it, I would be thinking "what if I had gotten that?" I hate that feeling!  So, I went with my gut and purchased it.

Honestly, I am in LOVE with it!  It costs$ 229.75, but if you pay in full, $30 gets knocked off :)  I did get the Personal Pro set (which is the middle one)  There is one cheaper for $189.75.  That was has only 4 speeds.  So, I would recommend going with the Personal Pro kit!

The coverage is AMAZING!  You can adjust it as much as you like simply by how much product you put in the reservoir.  If you have acne or scarring, this is definitely a product that you should look into.  The foundation comes in two varieties--paramedical or glamour.  I have glamour.  The only difference is one is waterproof and is better for coverage of tattoos.

For those more interested in the eye shadow side of the product, I LIKE it.  It's not a love just because I'm not used to how it feels.  It looks amazing (when it's applied correctly.) But, if you don't mind a heavier feeling shadow, this product would be amazing!

It is NOT a pain to clean.  It's very simple actually.  They have cleaner that comes with your purchase, and all you do is put some in the reservoir, pull the lever back using a rubber band and apply the cleaning caps.  When you are ready to use it, either go to the sink and spray it out or use a wash cloth to spray it out onto.  It's really not a complicated machine at all.  It's very simple and easy to use.  You DO NOT NEED TO BE A PROFESSIONAL TO USE THIS!  If you want to look beautiful and like your foundation was effortless, this is the product for you!  Try it out and leave a comment below on how much you LOVE yours :)

Team Jack--We've got your back!

Team Jack--We've got your back!

I wanted to write what was on my heart tonight.  If you haven't already heard of "Team Jack," he is an inspiration to us all.  He was diagnosed with brain cancer, and throughout his recovery process, has been in the hearts of all Husker fans.  Rex Burkhead is #22 for the huskers and is Jack's idol.  Jack reached out to Rex, and the two of them became wonderful friends.  Husker Nation has started a movement called "Team Jack." Through this, funds are raised to help pediatric brain cancer research.  For more on the story click the following link.

Something that has been weighing heavily on my heart and mind as well is a child named Cole.  His movement is called "Team MiraCole."  I will copy his story as stated in his facebook page. He is battling pediatric brain cancer as well for the 4th time in 26 months, and he is only 3 1/2.
"Cole was diagnosed on July 9th 2010 with a stage 3 Anaplastic Ependymoma brain tumor. This is a very rare type of tumor, mostly found in kids around the brain and spinal cord. Cole battled through a 9 1/2 hour surgery following diagnosis and had to have a trach and g button (feeding tube) put in, and 7 weeks of radiation. Cole spent the next year of his life cancer free and re-learning how to talk
, eat, walk and fine motor skills. July of 2011 Cole was diagnosed with another tumor, this one was located by his carotid artery. He battled through 3 months of Chemo and went to Memphis to have surgery to remove the tumor. When they surgeon went to remove he found what looked like a calcified pebble, the chemo had hardened the tumor and due to the risk of cutting the coratid artery they left it alone and sent us home. 3 months later Cole began to lose the ability to use the left side of his body. The tumor had regrown around the old tumor. We went back to Memphis right away and they were able to remove the new and hardened tumor. This was a very difficult surgery with extreme risks ( but then again all of his surgeries were ). Cole then went to St. Judes for 7 weeks of radiation. Before leaving they did an MRI and Cole was cancer free. Aug 24th we had another MRI in Omaha and it showed regrowth at the same location of the last tumor. This means that the radiation treatments are no longer effective. There is no cure for this type of cancer. All that can be done is remove it, radiate it. There is no Chemo that will defeat it.
We are currently at home enjoying our time together. We are getting hospice set up so that Cole will be as comfortable and pain free as possible. We ask that everyone else please pray for comfort and peace for our MiraCole, and our family."

The last post from his family is as follows: "Long day today....Cole slept so good through the night he didn't get his Tylenol and ibuprofen so he woke up a little cranky and had a headache. We got his meds back going and he was feeling better after a short bit.

This afternoon while Cole was with his nurse we went to a funeral home and started making his arrangements. This was not easy to do, but much easier to do it today than when he leaves us, want to be with loved ones at that time."

These kids NEED our prayers.  I wish I could do something more for these kids.  I feel like prayer is a VERY powerful thing.  And if any of you have an extra prayer, please give it up for these kids and all children suffering from pediatric brain cancer.  I hope all of you can find time to do so...
Have a beautiful night and pray for these beautiful children.
With Love and HUGE hugs,
Cassie

I wanted to share my favorite quote with you....

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

-Marilyn Monroe

I love this quote so much! Today is just one of those days that you sit back and take in all around you.  I realize how much I have and how thankful I am for everything/everyone God has blessed me with.  Even though life isn't always easy, it shapes us into the people we are today.  And I think that's a pretty good person.  Obviously, nobody is perfect, but I'm doing the best I can.

I want to thank my friends and family for everything they've done for me.  I want you to know that I appreciate and cherish each and every one of you, and love all of you so, so much.  I hope someday I can give you as much as you have given me.

Jacob, you're my best friend and I miss you dearly.  I realized today, that being apart, I appreciate you more than ever.  "You never know what you've got until it's gone" is so true.  I have the best supporter and boyfriend I could ever imagine.  I love you!

I hope everyone can learn to appreciate what they have, and how beautiful (though sometimes chaotic) life truly is...
Have a beautiful day!

Have you ever been in love?....with a curling wand?
I have!
I recently purchased a Conair CD117 Infiniti You Curl Curling Wand

o...m....gosh!  So great!
My hair has the WORST time curling, but I finally found something that only takes me 15 minutes to curl my entire head of thick, pin straight hair!
I bought mine at Wal-Mart for $22.97.  Super affordable and a wonderful product!
It comes with a three-finger glove-type thing. I don't use it, probably should burns hurt :)  I LOVE the design and the color. So if any of you are looking for a cheaper alternative to a curling wand--I recommend this!  Have a wonderful night everyone!
Stay beautiful!
Cassie
Hey Everyone!
Welcome to my blog!  Here's a little about me....

My name's Cassie.  I'm in nursing school and it's crazy busy.  I don't really have much of a social life (this is pretty much the extent of it not complaining :)

I've had my share of difficulty in life.  I injured my back playing volleyball when I was 14, and since then have had 3 back surgeries and 24 injections in my back and neck.  I used to let it define me, but I broke out of that cage and I'm living life to the fullest.

I have the BEST friends  and boyfriend (his name is Jake) I could ever imagine.  Together, they keep me sane.
My family makes for a crazy holiday time :)  I have five nephews and four nieces.  I love everyone so, so much.

That's really the biggest part of me....I LOVE to love people.  My goal in life is to make a difference in someone's life each and every day :)

So....why am I blogging?  Because everyone needs a getaway ;)
But seriously....I want to share my experiences with you.  I LOVE makeup and hair-so I want to share what's good, and what isn't.  I want to share my fashion faves.  It's a blend of a little bit of everything.  So if you want a place to love, cry, laugh, or just relax....you've come to the right place.
