Good Morning on this Beautiful day!
I know it's been awhile since I've posted. That's because a lot has been going on in my life this past year. I'm still taking classes and will graduate this May. I started a new nursing job. I got married in July to my wonderful husband, Jake. It truly was a beautiful day. Then, in August, I got a call from my dad to tell me my brother had been in an accident. The accident wasn't his fault, but it resulted in many, many days in the ICU and some very tough decisions. Since they couldn't fix his leg, he had to have it amputated. He has been learning everything all over again, and still has a very long road to go. A few days after the accident, my wonderful, selfless, loving, caring, kind (and so many other things) Grandpa left us unexpectedly to enter a place even more beautiful than we could ever imagine. He was my best friend and confidant, and I really miss him. My brother was still in the ICU when the funeral took place, so he had to say "good-bye" from miles away. It was heart-breaking. Just when I thought, "Things have got to get better," Jake's beautiful Grandma Charlotte suffered a heart attack and went to join my Grandpa. It has truly been a rough year. However, December brought some good news. Jake and I are going to be parents! We couldn't be more excited! We are in love with our little peanut already! We know that we have some beautiful angels watching over us to guide us through the coming months. What we learned this year: even through trials and tribulations, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Things DO get better. We can't control what happens, but we can control how we react and rebound.
